The first thing Kris learnt was that a hive is nothing without a good queen, so started producing his own queens. Once you have a good queen you will have a good hive. This then leads onto honey production. Once we have leftover wax we use that to make candles and beauty products. We also sell overwintered Nucs and spring nucs too. We have also this year started to do beekeeping days where you can experience being a beekeeper yourself.

It is widely known that insect pollinators are in decline. What is not so widely known is insects pollinate over 1/3 of food consumed by humans. In fact fruits like cherries, raspberries and blackberries are 90% reliant on honey bees to pollinate them. The result of the continued decline of these insects will result in less fruit and veg, more expensive food and less biodiversity. Our planet needs these pollinators. It has become a passion and an obsession to produce the best honey bees possible. It has also become a passion to protect our children's futures.

New Apiary set up

The New Apiary is finally set up. We have a 50/50 spilt in this site of nuc producers and honey producers. The nuc producers are in the national hives at this end being fed to encourage growth and expansion. Then the honey hives are the Langstroth hives at the far end. This is a fantastic site and I am so grateful to the landowners for allowing me to use it.
